I have a 1995 corrado with a 1.8 20v apx engine code  k04 turbo that is running on qpeng ecu and loom. I want to put this into my 83 gti and would like to keep the qpeng mbe engine management as it has two maps 180bhp and 270 bhp , it does not look like there are many wires going to fuse box would I be able to use this loom ,it would help if somebody new what the wires powered.

yeah no problem really, you just got to ID the ecu feed wires and convert them to ce1. not easy to offer specific advice as it depends how the loom was made

Thanks for the reply ,when you say ce1 is that what the fuse box on the mk1 is called. I have not yet looked at where it connects to in the fuse box of the corrado.if I was able to obtain a wiring diagram for a 1995 corrado 16v would that help me identify what feeds on my mk1 I would need to copy from the fuse box to the loom for the mk1.

yes the 83 mk1 has the ce1 fusebox which is the later type with the plastic blade fuses. the corrado is CE2 fusebox same as 90spec mk2 golf and mk3 golf and is different round the back.

as i say first step is get the loom and have a look at it, sometimes the ecu side is made as a piggy back loom and isnt tapped to the fusebox at all. even if it is there isnt much to it for the ecu it'll have a couple power feeds, earth and maybe fuel trigger.

the bulk of the fusebox feeds will be for the starter,  dash sensors, wiper loom etc. for these you would just keep the mk1 wires and adapt the ends where necessary to suit the new engine
