Gonna use vagtronics to sort out the wiring unless anyone has any other suggestions,
Also down pipe ? Any suggestions I don't think qpeng do one anymore

Intercooler - use a Merc Sprinter one or I got a new Ebay universal one for only £50-£60. Max size for me with the space between front frame & rad was 550mm wide x 230mm depth. 180mm depth will give a bit more room & work fine. ID is 63mm for hoses to match up easily. Inlet/outlet located at the top, not middle
Wiring loom - can recommend rubjonny myself
Downpipe - big tricky as noone advertises a K03/K03S version for sale anymore. Cheapest option I think is to buy a used mk4 golf decat downpipe & cut to suit. Or you'll need to get a K03 flange & get someone to make it. Go with 2.5” diameter pipe, not 3” unless you want your steering column boot to melt. Trackslag sell a K04 downpipe, means more power too, but then you'll need a more expensive custom remapped ecu with an Aum engine as far as I know & have to buy another turbo with all the lines (if you go K04 it'll probably be cheaper to start off with a BAM/APX/AMK engine as this will provide the K04 turbo, plus you can get a generic remapped & unlocked ecu on the cheap)
You have two threads going at the same time mate. Tensioner needed is 16v mk2 golf version & 8mm spacer required. Classic-Vw sells them in a kit including the engine/gearbox mounts

My aum is already at 180 brake? Is that correct as it was out of a mk4 turbo so think it has the k04 turbo already ? I might be wrong, it was more the part numbers for the tensioner I have sourced the belt
And think now after reading this is have the right intercooler, change the rad, now onto mounts prob will just buy the ones from retrofication they seem quite reasonable. I'll check to see what turbo I have
Thanks again guys

Getting back to the wiring vagtronics have said to remap and make sure all the gauges work they just want my new loom and they go in through the ignition, that includes the Rev counter and speedo with a diagnostic port temp sensor etc etc, does rubjohhny do it the same way ?
I presume it's best to get the wiring sorted before the engine goes back in ?
Thanks again,

G60 flywheel & vr6 clutch much better (you can use the stock clutch & flywheel but you can't put a lot of power through it, only do this if you run out of money & plan to update it later)
You want all the selector cables & tower out of the 02j donor as well
Very cheap generic maps out there. K03s should get you 200-210bhp if everything is sound on a stock engine (K03 usually about 190-200bhp)

What I found out at an early age (15yrs) that when rebuilding a engine/tranny, even if you re running low on funds, wait for the monies as it is best to replace a clutch out of the car with new, rather than having to do it in 2-3 months. (But I really got good at pulling engines/tranny's on MG's…..)

Both methods will cost about the same roughly, cable easier to do as no fabricating clutch fluid pipe or welding involved. But it's your choice in the end as some prefer cable & some hydraulic. All brackets & parts you need are off the shelf
