Coilovers

Hi, so I put coilovers on my '88 Cabby a couple of years ago.

Last year I completed the VR6 swap and with that, bigger breaks and spacers to clear the bigger calipers. Because of trying to clear the arches now my cheap 2 year old coilys aren't up to the job. Very uncomfortable.

I've found some that look good and have damping adjustment. Please correct if I'm wrong because I'm half guessing but the damping is about comfort and rebound of the shock? So more bounce more comfort, less bounce better handling? I could be wrong.

I've found some I like for £800 but also £400. I can't see major differences but is there a need to spend £800 on it or am I paying for a brand here?

Also there are a few setups linked to cabs up until 83. Obviously mine is 88. What's the difference because I'm struggling to find anything to fit the 88 that look decent.

If any advise I'd like a setup that is comfy and not too harsh over bumps (at the moment the car literally gets air over the slightest thing, I'm always bouncing out of the seat too) but also keeps the height it has now and doesn't roll too much in the corners.

I've got some pics so you can see the current height.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Zack

Coilovers

I've got the BC Racing coilovers. They are very good indeed.

Classic VW do them.
