20vt questions - water temp sensor and bluetooth OBD2

Just two questions about my 20vt conversion and how others have done it.
1) Do people use the water temp gauge on the existing mk1 cluster? If so, how do you wire this in?
2) I have the torque app and a bluetooth OBD2 connector. The OBD2 connector communicates to torque fine, but torque says that the OBD2 sensor cannot communicate to the ECU. I'm running a stock ECU (narrowband), any ideas why this is hapenning?

2. not all aftermarket code readers work with VW ECU. I would get a USB vagcom cable off ebay and try it with a normal laptop first. This will also show you more useful information as it can read thru the ECU measuring blocks which most OBD scanners cant get to
