20vt loom questions

Can someone set me straight on this please - are looms interchangeable between engine codes?  I'm doing some shopping for my eventual conversion and have seen a loom that's been converted for a mk1 with  immo delete and a stage 1 remap.

Would this be specific to a certain engine code or would it work with any 1.8t??

Cheers

it depends what code engine the loom was made for, what the new code is, and how the loom was made.

short answer is usually if you keep the same type of throttle body then looms are compatible, but not always.

As above. AGU is not interchangeable as the throttle is dbc. The rest are dbw with their own differences. I know the 150/180 AUM/AUQ are the same. I think the 225 AMK & APX are the same. The BAM is only different to the AMK/APX as it's got an EGT sensor on it's K04-023 turbo.

aye main thigns to watch out for on DBW swaps:
precat lambda: narrow or wideband
some need ECU power to pin 121 some dont
EGT: some have some dont
VVT: some have some dont
throttle pedal wiring, early actuator differs slightly to late pedal

if the loom was made how i advise the main loom will plug ionto a connector on the passenger side and can be swapped, which solves some issues.

But the EGT, throttle and lambda are on the big plug which will be in the main engine harness. not toooo bad couple pins swapped and added job done. For the small pins the empty slots have spare pins in and they're easy enough to crimp the wire to, and for the larger terminals those are standard/power timer so wi8dely available and cheap.
