Hi all just got my cab back  with a freash MOT .so now i need insurance i tried to switch my insurance over and i told them it had been lowed by 25mm .
To which they said they can`t cover the car.
So can any one tell me which company  there with and if my mod s match yours so here go`s.

I am 40 in sept and i have 11 years no claims no convictions .
The car is a 1985 cabrio gti which i think is about £5000 in value now or thats my cost to date .
It has a K&N air filter .
lowed 25 mm
bbs ra wheels but will be changed out soon
leather intera cost £1000
stainless fuel pump holder and fuel neck
power flex bush full kit
new mohair roof inner bag and heat
£1500 of I.C.E
green pad brakes and cross drilled discs
i think car might be imported too

So if any could tell me off a good company but not classic car . i have had a price of £104 but that is for a standard car .
insurance is like a card game should you so your hand or not :ninja:any help here would be good thanks .

Im with Footman James with all mods declared and I have a lot you don't need no claims on classic policy so can use that on another car if you have one but if not then Im not sure whether you lose the no claims if not used for a year?

Heritage agreed value of 6K, limited mileage of 1500 per year ,4 track days per annum comes in at a whopping £83    oh and mods ?one or two look for the Gulf Golf on the project page

Speeding is like masturbation, everyone does it ,but it's not something you should record and put on the internet!!

I've been  with footman James  and Adrian flux  for several years  but to be honest I won't be using Adrian flux  again,  their service is terrible,   they try to charge you for anything ,   they're hard to get through to via the phone,  left way too long waiting whilst being charged i would honestly advise you to stay clear of Adrian flux insurance

I have a caddy pickup and because it's a listed commerical a lot of the classics insurances  won't insure it , if I go on the compare market I get some decent quotes £200 ect then mention lower suspension I only get 2 options £500 or £600

Anyone else have this or know where to try ?

Hi Jay,

I'm with brentacre, I don't have a second car so wanted to keep my no claims so couldn't go classic.

I have lots of mods, G60 engine conversion with engine and supercharger work, coil overs, uprated brakes, different wheels etc. the list is massive.

I'm 34 with 8yrs ncb, no claims or convictions.
£389 which includes protected ncb and legal protection.

Brentacre set a horse power limit and as long as you don't exceed it you can add any additional mods on to the policy free of charge! not many insurance companies do that.

had to get my insurance rather quickly when id decided to buy mine, so done the confused.com thing and the cheapest was Lancaster, £130, I have zero claims, limited the milage to 3000m  as im lucky if I`ll do that!

40, married, garaged…

probably knocked 20-30 off, but was not worth the hassle at the time.
