I think it depends on each company most have an age limit on the car to qualify, usually has to be at least 15yrs old and regarded by them as a classic.

You generally have to limit your mileage typical ones are 3-5k pa but there will be others who will allow much more.  Agreed value can be offered and I would recommend, sometimes subject to a valuation fee if you send in photos and a declaration of condition.

Modifications are allowed, some are stricter than others, but I have never had problem with subtle wheel upgrades, exhaust, sports suspension etc.

What is really important to be aware of though is nearly all don't get you to transfer in any NCB from a present policy, but you don't build up any NCB in the future either.

I can whole heartedly recommend Carole Nash - one of the supporters of our site and offering discount to paid members.

Yes you will get a pack, they take a little time to come through as we send them out on renewal as well quite a bit of work for our membership secretary!  If you go onto the members part of the forum, you will see all the discount codes etc on there.  We have another member at least with a green one. With my classic car insurance I also have to own another car to drive, but I use my Golf as a daily drive and my Mk1 Scirocco is on a classic car insurance and that cost me more than my Golf to insure?
The golf is a GTi cabriolet and the Scirocco is a 1.6 carb…

1988 Mk1 Golf GTi Cabriolet 1.8cc DX, K-jet. Daily drive. 317,000 miles and counting
1978 Mk1 Scirocco GLS 1.6cc FR, Webber carb. Weekend toy.

Yeah I was going to mention it, a lot of classic car policies (all the ones I've seen) have it as a condition that you own/insure another car - in other words, you can't get classic car insurance if its your only car, it has to be a 2nd (or 3rd etc) car. But you could have a high annual mileage allowance, driving to-from work, etc and use the classic "a lot" while you "hardly used" your main car.
