1.1 c clock - GTI clocks - MOT

Im nearly there with my car for its mot now so but there one thing i need. I dont have any clocks that work so im looking for a new cluster. I've been searching for the 1.1c clocks with no rev counter but these are well hard to find!!! I was woundering if the gti clocks are a straight swap ie wireing etc. I know the rev and mfa wont work but will this fail the mot come mot time?

The rev counter only needs a feed from the coil to work I believe, unless any one else knows otherwise. Should be simple to get it working. I remember putting some GL clocks into my wife 1.1c many moons ago…

Speedo is not part of a Class IV MOT.

I've got two complete sets of non MFA clocks - have speedo, rev counter, water temp, and fuel guage and clock.  One has 133K the other has 118k.

As far as I know they are fully working but I have not tested either.

I have a set of working 1.1c clocks for sale -showing 65k. if you're interested send me a PM.

changed my 1.1c clocks for GLS ones, i think. It was a case of plug 'n' play. rev counter worked first time.

yeah sorry, should have said, GTi clocks plugged in and worked fine . No need to run a coil wire . .

If you put GTi clocks into a 1.1c does anyone know if the speedo will be out?

I assumed 1.3 driver clocks would be the best way to get a rev counter in my 1.1c (with a 1.3 HK engine). Anyone know if this is right?

the speedo will be fine, unless you've got tiny or massively oversized wheels on !!!

Yup - 1.3 Mk1 Driver clocks would definately be the way to go.

Not sure about the speedo issue - Iv'e just chucked an 1100 'box in mine and it has a buzzier diff ratio so I'll see if the speedo is now out…
