It is worn out (unlikely after only 12 months use)
The pressure plate is worn out (should've been replaced with clutch plate)
The flyheel is scored to B*ggery (would've been check as above) and has
kn*ckered the new plate already
it has too LITTLE free play (the easiest and cheapest condition to fix)
the cable is too stiff (and not letting the plate engage properly)
or
(OUCH!) there is oil on the plate hopefully not caused by a cr*ppy crankshaft oil seal. In the latter case you would probably see oil dripping from below
Any one else any different ideas ??

If this wasn't replaced it eventually Pi$$es gearbox oil all over your nice new clutch.
