Hand brake light - stays on all time.

My hand brake light (right hand side of steering wheel) stays on when I put the hand brake down in my black cab - only started to do it the last week… not done any work on it - so not sure why its started.

What I have done so far to troubleshoot.

1. I've checked the switch itself with another one - all fine.
2. I've taken the one cable off the hand brake switch - good connection and switch itself is fine as well - when I do take cable off the hand brake switch light stays on.
3. The brake fluid is a max level too.

Could this be a earth issue?

Anyone had this issue before and how to fit?

thanks Si

Sounds like cable is faulty , it's an earth cable and should be insulated back to the brake light  , switch works by making an earth when hand brake applied . Could it be damaged under the carpet ? Or the dash?

Remove the brake master cylinder cap and make sure the switch in the top is working by bridging the wires then pull the plunger gently down .
This will prove the cylinder switch is not to blame .

If you have a later Cabriolet ? does it have more than 1 brake warning switch or warning system ?

Hope it helps ……..
