Change of Springs

After running the Koni SSK suspension kit for about 2 years now, I have found it to be  very harsh.
I'm putting this down to the no name budget springs that are supplied in the kit, as the shocks are Koni T/As and others who use them don't  seem to suffer the same problem.
I would like some opinions/advice on whether getting a set of quality springs such as Eibachs or H&R would improve the ride quality.
Also i noticed that when the original OEM shocks were removed from the car and layed next to the Konis, the piston on the Konis was the same length as on the OEM items. This leads me to the question as to whether or not, OEM springs can be used with the Konis.

Any opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
