40mm drop on 14 inches?

Hi guys ,

just wanting ur opinion real quick.

Im wanting to take my 17's off and replace em with a set of CTi mushroom rims that r 14 inch.

Thing is that I have dropped the suspension 40mm and im worried this will all end up way too low  :?

I have mudflaps on my DUB too so im guessing those r gonna scrap.

Anyone?

You should have plenty of clearance running 14s with a 40mm drop, you can much lower before you encountered any problems.

What size tyres do the 14s have?

think they r 185-60-14

I'm lowered about 40mm from standard GTI height. I have 14'' steel wheels on (6J wide) with 185-60 tyres and front mudflaps. No issues at all. They should be fine. It's a matter of personal preference whether you think it looks too low or too high though! You'll just have to do it and find out if you like it.  :wink:

I think it's about right for practical daily driving, going over speed bumps and kerbs, and carrying passengers without any issues :

My heavier engine may be lowering the front a tad more than yours would :
