VW service cost on my daily!

Just booked my daily Passat BMT Sport in for a service.. he was quoting it as 'a major service' needing a pollen,air, fuel filter & oil change.. I said that's a standard service surely.. he said no.. I said the fuel filter & air filter should be changed as part of the service to ensure the good running of the car.. he disagreed, I said that's terminology… £316.31 for that!! What a rip-off!! Wanna keep my FVWSH - at a cost by the looks!!

I went to a major VW Dealer last summer to pick up a part and saw they were offering special servicing rates for older VW's.

So for a laugh I asked for a quote for an oil and filter change?
They have my Mk1 on record and it's the only one there with a small group of staff walking round it with their mouths wide open.
I could have sold it five times over at that place.

Well after 5 minutes of the service technician working away on the computer finally a quote came out, which he proceeded to double check. 🤔

Finally he handed it to me and said that will cost €240,37 including tax! That's rough £200 book time 3/4 of an hour.

The best bit I then asked what a full service would cost?
Thinking this will be a laugh.
But he went and saw the Service Manager and after a long discussion he can back and said I'm sorry we can't do that as we don't have a technician in our workshop with any experience of the Mk1.

Now they are the largest VW dealer not only in Austria but in central Europe with 14 service bays under one roof! 😂
