Old Mini's...

Post

Anyone into old Jags?

I've picked up an early ATI/Italvolanti steering wheel that comes with an unidentified hub attached.

It's yet to arrive, but from the images I've a suspicion it's may be for an E-Type or MKII Jag.

As usual the inter-web is full of conflicting info, so I was hoping any experts on here might take a look at a few close-ups?

I love old Jags, or is that Jaaaaaags?

I've been fortunate enough to be 'custodian' for the last couple of years of a pair of 1949 MKV Jags, as well as a 1936 and 1937 SS Jaguar.

Post some pics up of the wheel when you've got them, if I can't help I've got a friend with a MKII who may be able to ;)

That's brilliant thanks, will do.

The bolt pattern pre-dates even the early 3 hole Ati type and it seems a match to the 6 hole Moto-Lita set up with the odd offset, which would possibly make it 60's or 70's, I'm only guessing?

Hoping to get the wheel in a day or two, will get up some images soon after, cheers.

In a different life, (and if money were no object) I think I'd be into Jags, lucky guy looking after those beauties!

A very good mate of mine has an original Mk2 from 1963, a real minter.

Get a picture of it and I'll show it to him as he's a bit of an expert!

No problem

Yes it's been great to look after them. All of the joys of driving and fixing them without any of the bills!!

Got a surprise when a parcel was waiting for me this afternoon… Pretty sure now that I can see it in the flesh it's not a Jag hub, but for a MK1 Mini instead.

Had a look around and this is on eBay, the shape + dimensions exactly match right down to the mm, including the height, number of splines and inside measurement - http://www.ebay.ie/itm/111802913411?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

So changed the post title and I'll get a few pics up soon, maybe I'll get lucky a second time and now find a Mini expert!

Thanks all for the input, it's still very much appreciated…

Old Mini's...

They are stunning. The two SS were my favourites. Not fast, but lots of character

The Ivory coloured MKV (far right of the three) was used for Jessica Ennis's wedding

Put up a post in the MK2OC site and it looks like the hub is indeed for a MK1 Mini (and some other BMC's from the same era).

Again, thanks for all the help trying to solve this one.
