No mk1 anymore just this !!

Post

Well my last 5 years with my 4 mk1's is over and for the moment I have bought myself a VW Corrado VR6.

Storm grey with 4 owners and 93k miles with fsh.

Ive already booked it in to get the one rust blister removed on the tailgate and the half dozen wee dings removed.

I will get it up to my usual standard but it's a cracker already.

Ive already replaced the gearknob and gaiter with new VW ones, refurbed and fitted Lupo wiper arms with new blades and caps, ordered a used passenger window regulator as it gets stuck half way down. Got new heater control cables coming and still need to buy a new heater control unit as the current one is not working.

New black grill VW badge bought, new wheel bolts with covers, full boot area cleaned out and doors incl underside cleaned down as well as under bonnet and slam panel and wing tops.

Its already got £1k worth of new suspension and the wheels refurbed.

Plans are full rear beam rebuild with new full braking system and blue calipers.

Clear side indicators with diadem silver bulbs, Heko wind deflectors and new pedal rubbers also fitted.

I've got a wiper motor cover coming as well as seat reclining knobs.

New rear caliper carriers and slider pin set also heading my way with all the rest of the brake parts getting ordered after my hols.

New tyres as well.

Sensible move Chris as your two VW diesels may well be banned from the roads soon!!!! and the S1 was not really a car for all seasons just summer shows.

Ah the corrado heater controls!!! Nightmare :(

I have the same on my b3 passat.

In what way do they not work?

Is just the heater direction control that's not working but I bought a full set of cables and have seen new heater control panels on VW Classic for £150.

I have S feeling it won't be an easy swap over though 😁

I would say 98% itll be the controls mate

Which setting won't it select? Windscreen or feet?

Saw this on Corrado forum, looks great. Was this the car advertised on car and classic?

Windscreen but I'm still unsure if it actually selects any.

No chance I'm still around.

Nice new car congrats..   Amazing cars, Iv had 3 so far, a vr, a g60, and a 16v…
Vr was by far the best. I actually have a full set f+b black diamond drilled and grooved sitting.. They have no wear and done hardly any miles but like any disc that sits there no longer black  Amazing cars to drive
