Hood looks great, I bought a black Smart Pure same as yours new in 2004, loved it and made many modifications, a remap meant you could flash Mondeos out of the way on the Motorway and the look on the drivers faces was priceless when they saw what was overtaking them.

thanks for that, I was amazed at the performance out of the little 700cc turbo engine, the golf feels like a luxury limo
after driving the smart with it's very firm suspension.

Hood looks good mate but one thing to check in your second picture it looks like the hood has not folded properly does it fold with the crease in the middle as you put it down? There should be a strap either side attached to the frame to pull it in, when I had mine done these were not put in.

I just got used to folding it in as I put mine down to be honest, more hassle than it's worth getting hood taken back off to sort👍

You don't need to remove the hood to fit the straps to the frame but they should come fixed to the new roof? Open the roof 1/2 way and feed the straps through the pad and pop rivet to the frame, 5 minute job.

I had none at all on mine so would have been a roof off job to attach to roof.
