2 wheels

So this is my first ever 2 wheeler.

I purchased it in Dec 2017, Its based in Cyprus and is my holiday bike as i spend a lot of time there.  It took me a few months to gather parts and restore it so just a few little mods or finishing touches are left really

here is a picture of it from the advert when i bought it

here's how she looked in Feb 2018 after a two week holiday.  I went for the early look whilst still having her look original

new seat from japan, new mudguards, front forks, headlight, indicators  exhaust wrap and 4 spoke wheels

oh and good bye front basket

she ran ok after a carb clean and a fresh tank of fuel but wouldn't go over 40kph and took an age to change gear with the auto box

IMG_0941.JPG

i parked the bike up and set about collecting parts to complete the early look and buy as many new original bits and pieces such as badges, foot pedal rubbers etc as i could get my hands on

excuse the pink wheel and the slightly high front mudguard

Ha ha.. they look so similar to the ones my mates & myself hired for 2 weeks 20 yrs ago!! I kid you not.. think we used about £3 of fuel ? lol.. handy to hit Nissi Beach with ya towel & air bed.. also, just behind or back of Ayia Napa town there was a little field we found, little jumps too.. fun times..

haha, yeh these were popular back then we all did that! Very easy to bend the frames

i filled the tank with 2.70 euros

problem is you can't leave them anywhere they get stolen. There are more with no chassis number than there are with..

Also everybody hates original ones there and they modify the hell out of them so having one that looks oem is very rare

Ha ha I did have an off outside O’Neills bar, wasn’t going fast, the lads called me Superman..  I kinda went through the air, rolled my landing, stood up & got back on the bike.. people were just stood there looking at me! Lol couldn’t believe it.. another 100 yds or so I was back in our apartments - Castalia
I did bend the basket a little on the front & cracked an indicator lense.. good times.
I can’t believe they get nicked so much! There’s more go in a sick note lol..

Doesnt look dissimilar from my very first bike when I was 5 I belive.

I had a GarellI Katia in blue, it cost my dad £30

Had 3 levers, 2 brakes and one clutch. Stick it on the centre stand, pedal your heart out and pull the clutch in.

Was tiny but weighed a tonne. I fell off every time I rode it and one of the 3 levers had an argument with my ribs so my dad sold it.

Fortunately he replaced it with a 1978 Yamaha DT100 for £80 so at the age of 8 I was ridding a fully geared 100cc, I crashed that even more often lol

Current rides:

2003 BMW 330d Manual Saloon Msport
1985 GTI cabriolet black edition (42k miles)
1999 Triumph Daytona 955i Post apocalyptic, rat, brat, scrambler, steam punk, cafe racer

I've gone up to 75 cc from the original 50cc
i had a nightmare sourcing the right piston as the kit i got was for and early 6v engine and i had clearance issues but managed to find one from a bike mechanic who was a chaly fanatic nicosia in the end.  see the difference

hopefully that should get it going over 30mph   IMG_4921.PNG
