Garage extension project

Post

So in order to crack on with the golf resto, my rather sad looking prefab garage with it's old, leaky and crumbly roof, needs to be upgraded.

So off comes the old metal shed at the back and on we crack

first we get the workshop space sorted

Then we start extending the roof over the concrete bunker… (it looks like there's a shed eating the garage   )

Then finally bite the bullet and replace all the roof…

Much better. It's gone from this:

To this:

Just need to clad the outside, do the electrical work and internal fitout… then I can finally get back to the car…

Still, once it's finished, it should look like this:

Looks good.

Although if going to all that effort, why didn't you widen it too so you can work on the car?

It's wide enough to work both sides(just) and to widen it would involve knocking the existing structure down and taking up too much room in a small garden

Nice job mate

Nom Nom, tasty garage

It won't be big enough tho……..they never are! The more room you get, the more stuff you buy to fill it up, or at least that what seems to happen to me  ;)

I know. I found some in door washing airer thingy in it yesterday that "migrated" from the house. I shall have to change the locks on the doors.

Well, it's been a little while, but I have most of the external cladding done now, just a few tidy up bits and I need to make some windows

Front needs a little work, but I was waiting until the rest was done, so I could use the off cuts

Most of the cladding done, but I won't cut out the wondow holes until I have the glass to fit in the holes
(notice I've also covered up the old windows so I don't get an UV fading the interior of the Golf (as it sits at the front of the garage)

That looks great. And you can always extend out the back side when needed. With it being timber.

Yeah. Extending it again would be easy enough, the bigger challenge would be to convince the mrs to let me eat more of the garden
