All  for a clutch master cylinder Mondeo bad job

Master cylinders are always in a bad place, right in the middle of the car. The other "gotcha" is a starter motor on a car with an inline engine, its always going to be snug against the bulkhead.

We all moan about our old Mk1 Golfs but at least they are easier to work on than most modern stuff.

Had a similar dismantling to you but not the steering rack to change a clutch master cylinder on a VW Touran, then did the slave cylinder and the clutch still did not work, new clutch, dual mass fly wheel and £1000 lighter wallet we could drive the bloody thing  :lol:
