ive been a fan of the mk1 golf for a while now and eventually have managed to get my hands on one in the shape of a white big bumper cabriolet little bit of a back story…. I've had a mk2 fiesta for the past couple of years (was my first car) and have gone quite far with that and decided this year that I want to take it off the road to be able to get some bodywork sorted and other issues that I've got so needed a new daily! I was going to get something sensible but that would be boring after all…. and when my dad came home with this mk1 I just had to have it!
just some pictures for now to keep you all interested Haha
One of the fiesta some may have seen it around…
And then the golf
As can be seen for the pictures is quite a genuine car it does however need some bodywork sorted being the major issue on it! After the first time of myself driving it I was having issues with the way it was running - changed the leads, plugs, distributor cap, rotor arm, fuel pump etc. This hasn't made any real difference I have since found that I need a new carb and distributor if anyone has one for sale at all?
Even though it's not running the way it should I couldn't resist buying a few bits for it! Went on a 5 hour road trip the other weekend and picked up some new wheels - a set of 15x8 compomotive THs should have some tyres on next week ready to be fitted. Also bought a new door to replace the passenger side with the rust hole in the bottom. Finally borrowed a mates momo team steering wheel as he isn't using at ent this it looks perfect! The car has an aftermarket stainless exhaust on it I did spend some time polishing it up the other day and it has came out nicely however I would like to get the tip changed eventually to have a more straight outwardly rolled exhaust
My plans for the car are to get it running and on the road then enjoy it mostly! I'd like to tidy the bodywork up and get a single headlight grill but other than that it's probably just little things for this
Cheers

Cool beans man. Liking the go faster matt black boot lid, helps keep the sun out of your eyes on those rally stages
Haha it's actually blue should be white soon hopefully! Either way keeps water out unlike the other didn't hahaha
Cheers for the comments guys Im still having some issues with it running properly going to order a brand new Weber carb later for it then hopefully we should be sorted!
Got some tyres sorted at the weekend for the comps they're a set of 195/45/15 nankangs which I think look spot on the wheels. Really happy with how they look black wheels would never have been my first choice however I do really like how it looks just hard to get so,e pictures as it was getting dark. Ordered up a new hella patrol cap the which should be here in a couple of days to replace the aftermarket chrome one that's currently on there.
Anyway a few pictures just let me know what you think
The exhaust has also grown on me a lot

love the comps, i think they would look really nice on the car in silver
Cheers mate. Black would never have been my first choice in wheel colour however the wheels were cheap so couldn't really refuse them. The black looks a lot better than I first thought but I do plan on having them redone in silver/grey some day the hella petrol cap cam yesterday so out that on surprising how much nicer it actually looks!
