My Yellow 78 Series 1 - Restoration started 05/14

So this is my second mk1… 1978 Series 1 1.5D

Have got plans to turn her into my dream car so will keep you updated on the progress

Looks nice, really original from what I can see.

Whats plans? (Please don't say slam it, washers for camber, loads of stickers!!!)

will probably annoy the standard police (each to their own). But yes i will be getting coilovers, probably alleycat alloys. Not much else nice and simple. (all standard parts will be retained though)

Am looking out for a brown S1 interior in good condition as the current one is in poor condition.

Then eventually when funds allow i will sort out all the body work, all the little rust spots and get a full respray.

All in all, its very tidy for a 78!! Got her for a good price so really chuffed. Now to put my stamp on her

Good luck with the resto mate. She's definately worth the effort IMO.

It deserves nicer wheels than alley cats though in my opinion. 

Got some time to ponder on wheel selection.

Initially its between ats classics & jbw rally specials (alleycat)… thinking the black will look good with the yellow but still quite an original/classic look.

Would love BBS RM/RS but:

1. its the obvious choice (for a reason) but would like something a bit different
2. they will make me poor…
3. i would have to lie to my mrs even more about how much something costs

Its times like when i first saw this on ebay that i wish i wasn't mid resto on my car, then i could have snapped this up before you!
