MK1 Cabriolet 1987

20180405_152305.jpg 20180405_152200.jpg 20180401_130044.jpg 20180401_130010.jpg Found this 1987 Mk1 1.8L Cabriolet in a barn recently and persuaded the owner to sell. Its been off the road for 10 years. A pre Mot Check and all it needed was 2 front shocks and a rear exhaust box. Passed with no advisories. Really pleased with that. Now taxed, insured and on the road.
The hood can be used now, first time down took about an hour with help. One of the gas struts needs some attention which I will get round too.
Body work also needs some attention, but for now I've just given it a good clean and polish.
Never owned one before but really enjoying driving it around.
Looking forward to meeting up with other MK1 owners(SE) in the near future.
Cheers

Straight through the MOT like that is a first I think. ;)

If you have any issues with the roof the go to guy and expect our good friend Carl chortle .

If fact he's built up such a good reputation that he's started his own company doing convertible roofs!

Great to see another Cabriolet on the road.

Not sure if you have checked or looked at the fuel filler neck for rust etc?

Common problem and if left unchecked dirt, grit and water gets into the fuel system and causes allsorts of problems.

Is you car fuel injetion or carb?
