Ok guys have just bought an AGU 20v engine My intention is to put a K03s turbo on her, I don't want anything too crazy that I spin all the way down the road.
Now I have picked up various bit's and pieces off the forum about what is required and what's not but I might need a bit of advice as my car has a non standard engine in already!
I have everything off an 83 gti to fill in any gaps due to my current car being a small block chassis.
Will have some pics tomorrow of what I've taken on!
Anyway, the engine is from an Audi A3 and it came with a cable gearbox and shifter (will find exact model number).
Cheers

Another thing, I have been trying to get on qpeng's site as I may use their ecu and loom service but their website seems unavailable. Are they still trading?

Thanks Andy, I think it might be a case of all the gear no idea though lol
First bit of bad news though. The engine arrived damaged I don't know how the couriers could have done this but the rocker cover is squashed at the front, ecu was on the engine in the same place and was squashed, instrument panel was on top and shattered and finally the loom was damaged.
The seller is apparently going to send me replacement parts next week.

Going to get my engine mounted on a stand and start cleaning it down and restoring components.
I want to give my new rocker cover a thorough clean, can anyone recommend a cleaner I can use and soak the cover in.

Started to strip the engine down today. Removed the wiring loom and gearbox. Was about to mount it to my Clarke engine stand but don't have any M12 bolts, will pick some up tomorrow.
Does anybody have any tips for removing the flywheel without the special 3067 that locks it in place?

Yeah you will be able to lose a few during the conversion. Will you be fitting an oil catch tank as well???

I have ordered up my mounts from retrofication http://www.retrofication.co.uk/mk1-golf-18t-20vt--19tdi-06a-block-5-speed-02j-engine-mount-kit-186-p.asp and just wondered if I required any additional mounts other than the 3 in the kit.
What rubber bushes should I order up for these?
Cheers

Hi. Very nice looking car, love the yellow paint with the dark wheels. Hopefully you got the bad luck that comes with all mk1 golf projects out of the way at the start with the broken engine, fingers crossed good luck with the project.
