1976 swallowtail

Finally got a mk1 again, my last swallowtail was back in 2017, so it's been a while. 

This thing is very very original, so I'll only be changing the suspension and wheels, just to make it to my taste. But it will 100% stay with all of its original parts to return it to how it sits now. I can't quite believe it's condition, it's stunning, and only on 55000km's.

It's like driving a new car, I'm really impressed with it. 

Yes it's not met the mk2 yet, but I think the mk2 will have to move down the bench and get relegated to the car port.  

They finally met, then I undid 46 years worth or originality and fitted some bc coilovers. Also test fitted a zender turbo.

For heaven sake keep the originality    and sell me the Zender's

Not just back in a Mk1, but back into another swallowtail! Amazing.
Gotta say, it's always been great seeing you post all of your various cars along the way.

Thanks man. I've gone through a lot of cars recently. I'm trying to settle down and actually he truly happy with what I have. Reckon I'm there finally.

Got some tyres on, needs a little notch at the front just to get the front

Nope. The mk2 wins for me. (Sorry to say that on here)

Put this back on the original steels, I much prefer the drive like that. 

Does anyone want to buy this little beauty, I don't use it. 

I've got it on eBay and on here, 10k. 

Can't believe nobody wanted this. Just dumped it in a barn for the next 6 months.

No Offence but £10k is a lot of money for a non gti mk1 golf  with 4 doors!  Much as it's a lovely looking car it will be a small market to buy this!  Especially with a recession/cost of living crisis coming!

None taken, hence why I've put it away. I don't consider 10k to be a lot of money tbh, you'd buy a rotten high mileage gti for more, then bang that again into it to make it as clean as this car. 5 door hurts it I agree, I made a mistake buying it if I'm honest… only did because I could. 😂

Pulled this out of storage and fitted some 16's. Using it over winter as my daily.
