Typical, don't think we could be further apart and still be in the same Country.
I live in a small place just east of Vienna called Gross Enzersdorf.

So what sort of project are you looking for, full restoration or something that just needs some light work?

I have been searching and searching

I'll probably get something decent , left hooker with good spec like an GX and then put a bigger lump in it to be fair!!

Finding a good GTi 1 is like finding hens teeth and to import it will be painful if its not 'tots orig'

Last week i saw a cracker on eBay, a GTD with an AAZ lump init, RHD wouldn't faze me too much over here but when up at the TUV prüfhalle  chatting to the man it just didn't work out.

I have been checking out the classified and where folk are breaking, the prices are very fair, with a bit of patience i should be able to get my shopping done:cool:

I guess you're looking at willhaben a lot because reasonable ones do come up from time to time but you have to be darn quick of course!

As for GTI's there prices have gone through the roof in the last couple of years.
In fact Mk1 prices in general have been getting silly for the past five years or so over here!  :o

Mickey if you can give me an appropriate price range I'll keep my eyes open for you and send you any I find.

I'm getting emails on a daily basis because I've been monitoring the market here for a number of years!  😉👌
