Newbie with a MK1 Pick up project

Hi all, just purchased my first MK1 project 
It's a pick up that's been stripped to bare shell and left bare for 4 years…. everything is in boxes so trying to get a good starting point.

Also will be going down the 1.8T up grade 

Any tips would be great

Welcome to the forum dude! 1.8t are my go to engine and rebuilt a few and put the one in mine so always happy to help with any advise needing. what are your plans just put the stock engine in or a big build like the pic I've added of mine?
