Id thought I'd say hello

Evening all just though id introduced myself, I have a 1990 mk1 caddy. I've owned it for since 2010 and its come time to swap the engine out. I'm looking to keep it diesel and put a TDI in it, I'm sure its been done before but need a few pointers like best donor car and engine and what I need to do the job. so if anyone can help shed some light it would be muchly appreciated.
