Just bought a 91 clipper, so I thought I'd say hi!
The biggest problem is that the previous owner has fitted a Webber carb but obviously not set it up properly, I could really do with some advice on that.
I'll put some pics up once I work out how to do that from my phone!!
Thanks in advance.

Weber carb can be fiddlley and I’d check for vacuum leaks from old pipes. Also check the rubber mounting plate to the intake manifold isn’t cracked or leaking.
It’s worth buying a rebuild kit and taking the carb off and rebuilding it.
Replacing old vacuum lines and the carb rubber base is the way to go.
Then you need a friend with S timing gun to make sure the timing is set up and a gas analyser to get the mixture and air idle speed right.

It’s curving up above the side windows. Usually an indicator of missing or broken side tension cables or more commonly the material has shrunk.
Whilst you’re there I’d check rear window frame for rust.
Peel the seal away from the metal frame (inside the car) and slide your finger under and around the frame edge.
If rust drops out or it’s wet you’re frame is gone or on way out.
You can sometimes see rust stains on the carpet of the parcel shelf.
It’s common on these cars.
Most cars I get in for roofs these days often need the frame replaced.
This should be done the same time a new roof is put on.

I’d check your roof over too.

So, after a little investigation, the rear window frame does in deed have some rot and it feels like I can feel what’s left of the side cables in the cover (is this possible or am I feeling something else) is it worth changing the cables first before going all out and getting a new roof?
Carb service kit ordered and the normal plugs, leads and rotor arm!

The odds of changing the rear window frame without the old vinyl ripping isn’t high.
Plus you need to look at the headliner to see if that’s ripped, hanging or beyond cleaning.
It’s the first thing fitted on the frame.
So you’d need to strip it back to bare frame to change that anyway.
As these cars are getting on the interliner capping or base sheets will be rotten and the pad falling apart.
You can check these by opening roof halfway and lifting the hood away from the middle section.
If you can see the green shredded wheat pad or feel it then the cap sheets are gone.
Lift the bottom up see if the base cloth is ok. Often the webbing straps rub a hole in them.
If you find bits of grass/straw on the parcel shelf the pad is falling apart.
The rear window frame is changed at time a new roof is fitted.
As the opening for the window is cut after the roof is fitted.
Otherwise you don’t have enough material to tension the material before it’s fitted to the opening.

I’ll add now to do a full refurb it won’t be cheap.
It’s quite labour intensive.

Hi chap, welcome to the forum.. I have some tarantulas if you want to do some sort of a swop? Goodish tyres; Only issue - they are painted black (but pretty well it seems). I'm based near Worcester

On another note, I found a thread on here about Weber carb vac pipes but none of the pics will load? It’s from 2009 I think!
Could really do with a bit of help on these as I think when the Weber was fitted the vac pipes have just been thrown on from a great distance

Thanks, I should have original wheels coming for it soon already thank you. Also, to be honest, the ones on it aren’t in great condition.
