1985 Cabby
Another newbie here!
I have an 85 Cabby. It's been stored up for the last few years since I bought it but it's now time to get her back on the road.
She is in need of some tlc but I'm sure I can manage it with some help and advice from you guys.
Look forward to chatting with you.
Nally.

Well first on the list is probably engine & gb recon. Although i'm unsure which route to go down since I have an EX lump instead of DX in there currently. I would also like to get some more HP whilst redoing the engine so was considering putting a MK2 16v head on (if compatible)but I don't know if I should find a DX lump for that, or if the 2 are the same. If I am correct then the EX is just part of the non GTI version engine, so since it is now part of my GTI engine it should be the same in theory. Question is, are there any performance differences between the 2?
So have some research to do there!
The whole engine bay is a mess and needs sorting out.
I put a new roof and liner in a few years ago so that should all be ok.
Will be replacing all the rubber seals for the hood sealing as most of them are perished.
Seats and interior are quite tatty so will also need re-upholstering.
Lots of other bits and pieces to do, running gear, n/s front wing could do with replacing, exhaust, and after all the rest is done a nice shiny new set of rims!
So, a bit of work to keep me busy for a week or 2!
