Hello , newbie cab owner from Welshpool!

Hello all , my name is joe and I am a new member from welshpool 🙂. Last week picked up my 1st golf , a 1986 c reg gti cabriolet with a grand mileage of … 5400 miles 😂. Will be looking to do a few little bits to the old girl over the next month or so and will post up some pictures as I go .

Do post up some pictures of yours because it sounds really interesting with that mileage mate.

Assuming it's genuine and documented that has to be one of the lowest mileage totals ever outside of Museums maybe!

Lastly if you need some parts, insurance etc… Do look into becoming a paid member because we have an extensive list of preferred suppliers which offer us paid members discounts.

Plus a fairly big discount from the RAC and don't forget to look at the Club Shop, yep even there you'll get a discount.

Cheers guys. I will have a look through the links you sent to me later today 🙂. Nice to see a warm welcoming club 🙂. I will get some pictures up in the coming days for you guys. It does indeed have service history to back up the mileage and has always been local to me , only 2 owners but the car needs a serious clean and a little tlc as was left outside off the road for close to 10 years. Anyone know of a lower mileage one that isn't in museum? I'm currently looking for replacement seat fabric but can't find another set of these seats at all. Any ideas? Fabric inserts and leather bolstered.

Not sure that looks original VW material, unless its some special order part leather trim???

Also the 1st pic shows a red grille, not sure that was ever standard on a Cabrio from the factory?

Ah ok , cheers for that. Wonder if it was a factory option or if it's been replaced in the past? Shame if it has. Might try and get hold of a brochure and see if the seats are in there. They seem to be standard and not modified to fit. Strange one 🤨.
