Hi All,

I just wanted to introduce myself as I've recently rescued an 83 Rabbit Turbo Diesel GL from the original owner. This rabbit  was on the road until last month, at which time said owner turned out of a parking lot and the rear axel came loose from the body on the passenger side. Further inspection reveals rot at rear mounting point (to the degree that there is no mounting point left).

I've got a feeling this might be a rare beast as I have never seen another factory mk1 Rabbit turbo diesel before. I would like to save if possible.

Adam

Welcome! It's always nice to see more Canadians joining.
Hopefully a good going-through will reveal an easy save for you! From what I've found, the '83 Turbo Diesel was only available with GL trim and 1983 and 1984 were the only Rabbit's to be offered-up with the Turbo Diesel option.
