New here, 90' Cabrio from CHILE

Hi everyone, my name is Stefano. I own the cabby you can see on the attached pic…well, he is kind of my brother. He came home as a present from my dad to my mom when I was 2y-old. Its been in the family since and when I was able to drive I asked to keep it(my dad was thinking of selling it). I take a lot care of it, do most of the stuff by myself and recently I have been really struggling with the carb. I´ve dismantled it and cleaned it and put it on timming many times but it keeps failing. Reading in many parts I´ve seen it appears that the solution is to change it to a weber one, so thats why I wanted to ask people in this forum for help. I live in Chile so its difficult for me to go window shopping, I want to contact any supplier in europe and I can buy it from there and ship it. Well, I hope sometime I can go to one of those big meeting they have in the uk, here in santiago chile we are little owner of the car…Hope to hear from you, cheers!

Ps: You can see pics from wedding, some friends who have married had asked me to drive them in my cabby :) 15267598_10209826550674935_8863465279332585047_n.jpg 15578630_10210075355974912_5843447013932079506_n.jpg

Stefano, is it easier for you to buy parts from the US or the EU in general? 🤔

As you know Chile is far from a normal delivery destination for Europe.
What about Brazil 🇧🇷? 🤔
As I have found out to my cost, you have to be very careful about Import Taxes!

There is a company in Germany 🇩🇪 that offer worldwide postage but you have to email to get a quote.
If you look at this link it will be in German, you'll see the email address at the bottom.

https://www.werk34.de/shop_content.php/coID/1/content/Cost-for-Shipping

Click on the home page and you'll find that some of the catalog is in English, they can read, reply and speak it as well. 😉
I've dealt with them, they are a good company with a lot of parts as you will see.

Maybe Briano1234 who lives in the US might know of some companies, he's a great guy and full of knowledge. 😉

Now I think most people would agree to fit a Weber carb but where to get one I have no idea but I'm sure someone will. 😉

Mike.👍

I know for a fact that we do have more members in North and South America, Canada as well but many members don't look around the forum from the home page, they go straight to the posts.

So tend not to go to the map and add there pin 📍 unless they find it by accident! 😉 😂👍🏼

Thank you everybody!  @polynesian when you come to Chile just let me know. golf Cabrio  I saw the map, awesome, too bad I´m the only one that appears in Southamerica haha. About buying from Germany or US I´ll ask Briano1234 if he knows anywhere in US. I was talking to a british webstore http://www.carburettorspecialists.com and they told me I should get the Weber 32/34DMTL carb. Anybody know if thats effectively the one? it goes for 345.00 british pounds plus shipping.

Welcome first of all, Stefano… that sure is a great looking Cabby!
ECS will ship parts out to Chile, ( https://www.ecstuning.com/), and it would be worth contacting Techtonics Tuning ( http://techtonicstuning.com/ ) as they do state on their site that they ship internationally. I've dealt with both companies, and would do so again.
