picked it up today!!! ***NOW WITH SOME PICS****

:D  :D just picked up my first ever mk1 (gti cab 2.0 16v) so now i don't feel as much of a fraud cos i've been posting on here for the last month while i was waiting for it to be ready to collect!

now i need to start picking your brains about the problems/queries i'm gonna have.

to start with i've posted in bodywork and fittings - have a look to see if you can help!

cheers

What are those strange looking things on the B posts?

not 100% sure walt, but i was told (whether i was being wound up or not i don't know! :? ) that they were for a roof rack!! 8O  8O .

maybe somebody can confirm this (either that i was made a mug of, or that they are for a roof rack!).

regardless, they'll be coming off this weekend.

thanks for all the nice comments about her; friendly bunch aren't you!

Well I had heard of roof racks on cabs! Not sure why on earth anyone would want one fitted? How would you get the roof up or down? I wondered if that's what they were! I hope you can find some way of covering up the holes with something! I wonder if you could get some black vinyl and lay it over the black of the B post and then replace the window and door seals! I remember getting some vinyl a few years ago in the same satin black effect from a sign company! That might be worth a try because it would cover the holes and make it look like new! Just a thought!  :)
