Finally getting started with my Mk1

It's been 3 years since I have made a post on here and in that time my Mk1 Gti project has been lying idle, things were not great at work for a while, therefore I had not much money to spend on it, but alas I'm back on it again, I have sold my Mk4 R32 to fund this build, I loved the .:R but it had to go as I had bought myself a VW T6 conversion so something had to give, got the car on a rotisserie and I have started removing all the waxoyl and seam sealer, so far so good, only a few welding jobs done so far but there is plenty more to do, I plan to strip it right back to the bare metal for as much as I can , make sure everything is soid and rust free then begin the process of sealing it all back up again, I've ordered myself a compressor and a blasting kit to get into all the nooks and crannies, I have a 2.8 VR6 lump for the car too, with the Eurowise kit it should be easy enough to fit, but the engine itself will need a complete re-build, I will be picking everyones brains out in the days and months to come, as I'm not a car mechanic, but have plenty experience with the old T2 which I used to own, anyways I'll keep on with it and keep everyone posted on my progress, while I'm here, can anyone advise me as to where I can buy the little tabs thatsecure the brake lines, there must be a better or more modern solution than bendy metal tabs, Thanks in advance IMG_2824 (2).jpg IMG_2757 (2).jpg IMG_2729 (2).jpg

Welcome back

I just cut some sheet down and spot welded them to the car. That's all the originals were.
