Newbie

hi all,

Thought i'd introduce myself as I'm new to the site. I bought my 1990 cabby just over a year ago after the previous owner had it stored in a barn for around 5 years. 
it looked quite abit different to how it looks now,
i know it needs a respray so I thought it go at it with the machine polisher to try and bring the paint back up. I've tried to make it look a bit more retro by changing the body kit for triple chrome bumpers (I got bored of people asking if it was a mk2). I changed the suspension as the original was knackered so it is now on coilovers. The grille and headlights were changed from twin to single and I have just had the wheels refurbished.
hopefully over the winter I will change the perished window scrapers, have a new roof fitted and clean up the engine bay. I would like to have it resprayed by show season next year but I'll see how everything else goes.

When it comes to a new roof you've got to talk to Carl chortle as he's the go to expert on them and does supply and fit as well.
His advice is free!  😉👍🏼

Thanks for the advice I will get in contact as the roof is the next item on my list. Really want to get it done before it starts to get cold .

Thanks. The paint has come up really well considering I have never used a machine polisher before   . Unfortunately there is rust on the boot and in the arches. There are a few dents round the car that need sorting as well so I thought respray will be the best thing for it. Think I'm staying with the same colour  

Do try to stay with the same colour as firstly its a hell of a lot cheaper and secondly a colour change will definitely devalue the car. 😕

Get the rust done properly and remember what you see is like as iceberg, you only see what's exposed which is about one third! 👍🏼

I'm pretty convinced I'm going to stay with the original colour I think it looks nice when clean. I was going to head over to crazy quiffs at some point to see what they can do with her.
