Nice colour combination, although not sure about the red grille.  the red seats weren't that common, but the same trim was fitted to the Scirocco Scala as well.  what are all the pop fasteners for around the window line?

Thanks for your comments.
Do you think the red grille is not the original one for the car?
The car was ordered at the factory by a doctor who ordered a cover to go over the seats and steering wheel when he parked the car when he was out and about
i have added a few images of the cover IMG_0016.jpg IMG_0018.jpg IMG_0017.jpg

I've never seen a cover like that before, it would be quicker to put the roof up than putting that cover on?

Nice to see something a bit different.  :thumbs:Lose the red grill or go for a red strip around the grill if you still want a touch of red on it.

Seat material can be bought here but it's not cheap, or find some 2nd hand seats as that style of seats were fitted to a lot of later cars or Mk2 Sciroccos, best to find a passenger seat and also replace the foam underneath as it’s comon for rips etc on that side of the seat.

Yep quicker to put roof up than faff with that cover.

You can get full covers but never seen them fitted like that.
All those press studs ruined the car.
Plus there’s no tabs to hook the standard cover too.
Look at your small cover, there should be a hook either side at the rear.
These pass through 2 loops on the hood.
The red grille not standard.
Also the door decals that say alarmed not factory either.

What’s the plans for it?

Hi there, welcome to the club. Im new here myself. Fantastic project car. We have very few cabriolets on our roads(South Africa) as they were special imports and command a very high price if you can find one. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Congrats on the car… :thumbs:The red interior was available of Facebook recently - Raja Rahim, look him up, he's a good guy. Also the material is available new from www.werk34.de  -  it will cost you about €75ish for about 1.4m2… :o expensive  i know.

the Grille is deffo not standard, had a lick of paint in its time.. standard black with Red outer trim
The car, very possible a Quartet Edition with that colour combi & snowflakes…

Hi all, am I being thick, or… looking at that cover, won’t all the rain simply flow downhill to the dashboard, and onwards, or pool over the seats, either way with poor outcomes? Bizarre! Hereford Steve.
