Just this morning picked up a 1989 Cabriolet, all original and absolutely mint condition. 79k from new.
Beautiful weather today on the sunny south coast, so I'm cruising around with the roof down.
I used to be a member many many years ago with a troublesome cabby in white, which put me off owning one, but now considerably older and in a better situation to run one.
It will be my daily driver, but with less than 5 miles travelled a day, Im not putting too much mileage on it.
Already finding useful topics on the forum.
Many thanks and look forward to getting more involved.

Get yourself a wind deflector for those times with the roof down, makes such a difference to driving the car anything over 30 mph.
1988 Mk1 Golf GTi Cabriolet 1.8cc DX, K-jet. Daily drive. 317,000 miles and counting
1978 Mk1 Scirocco GLS 1.6cc FR, Webber carb. Weekend toy.

Welcome freeman, nice tidy looking cabriolet you have there, is it the Gti or carb version?

Thanks for very much. Very happy with it so far. It's the not the GTI, just the 1.8 carb, I personally prefer this engine and it still shifts absolutely fine. I will look into a wind deflector for sure.
