Hi all I'm Lewis I'm 20 from leamington spa
Just brought my self a 1983 mk1 gti shell
No interior or engine
Requires some welding here and there
I'm in the body shop trade so all is good on that side
Hope to learn some things about the car and find some parts and meet new people within the owners club
I've made an instagram account called @gtiresto if anyone would like to follow my restoration   Thanks  IMG_8587.JPG

That she'll doesn't look too bad from the picture, but at least you won't have to strip it down to work on it. What are your plans for the engine?

As I'm sure you're well aware but if you keep it standard you'll surely get your money back at the very least.

But it's your MK1 and you do with it whatever takes yeah fancy and doing the job you do really helps!

Look forward to watching this one progress over time.  ;)

Yeah the upper half of the shell is very clean! Just needs some welding underneath! I'm not 100% sure yet I'd like to put a 1.8t in it or could just go for something more simple like an original gti engine, do you have any suggestions?

Thanks

Yeah I'm very unsure what to do with it at the moment I have seen some mk1s I like the look of but I want something unique
Will post some more updates or make a thread in the build and project forum soon

Thanks
