New Girl
I'm new to the scene, only been around for a short while and have been introduced to the Dubs by Dano. I'll describe my ride as follows,
2005 Atlas grey cabriolet with contrasting grey interior. It has stiffened supension and 5" Le Plastique alloys with 2 leg drive. The fully retractable drop hood converts into a stylish 1 seat cruiser with a captains chair facility to face either forward or backwards. The interior is padded with a secure race harness to keep me in place. Once I reach my destination or if I want to stop off on the way then the rock 'n' roll bed converts quickly. 2 optional extra cup holders and a tinted rear hood screen keeps away prying eyes from my IPE.
I haven't tested my ride yet as I only got them at 10:14am today but I expect good power to weight ratio as I only weight 7lb 6ozs.
Dano tells me that he will take me out for my first lesson soon but we will have to keep the speeds down until I/he gets used to the handling.
I look forward to meeting some of you at the shows, just don't get too close to the wheels or I will have to use my secret anti theft device

Oh yes - I have missed a few already this year that would have been on the cards if Charlie wasn't here.
Never mind though - He is worth it…

Baby Dubs ride sounds cool
I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday

The worst thing is how much stuff you have to bring out with you it is like mobilising a small army unit to go on tour

I have three horrors aged 7, 4, and nearly 2 - I agree with Mr_GTI - the stuff you have to take defies belief. I had to change the car to an estate when I had two, now thinking of a toran due to the third one. Will also be useful though for humping car bits n bobs around !!!

BabyDub (Amy) is now a week old and the sleepless nights haven't been too bad, although I was a bit dopey last night!!
BabyDubs' wheels were 'tested' on Monday when she had a cruise out. People were stopping her and asking all kinds of questions! Some people were so impressed with the standard of the ride that she won instant Show 'n' Shine awards with the neighbours showering her with gifts!!
Cheers Dan

Which Wheels did you get for Amy?
We got the "Bugaboo" thing for Charlie and it is great! Very versatile and easy to use - Brilliant piece of design!

We had to go back to the shop and ask.
Anyway once securred in place the Mamas & Papas Pramette performed well. My driving skills have now found a new level…..and its very interesting to see the number of mums going the other way taking an active interest!!!
Taking the Kins 'Wave' thread to another level, perhaps I'm be on the look out for other Pramette pushers and acknowledge them too!!
BabyDub is now officially registered to be on the road, says the registrar!

It was a bit embarrasing because neither of us could work out how to put the waterproof cover on!!! ops: ops:
LOL - The first time we took Charlie out in the rain, we forgot the rain cover!
We had to limit our visits to those places with covered walkways etc… :?

Its been a while since I last posted, well exactly 12 months to be precise. I have done a lot in those months and have now mastered my standard ride to the extent that I have sought out a track day alternative.
I have opted for the stripped down 'Maclaren Buggy' look. You know, light weight panels, small euro wheels, plastic windows and best of all single seat!!!
My race wear leaves a lot to be desired as I am sponsered by a honey manufacturer (no product placement here!). What do you think?
I would like to thank all my support team who have helped make my first years racing a success!!! (Most of all Dano!!!) ops:

Secretary
I was in town the other day and the ELC have got some excellent IPE at the moment.
Only one problem the shop had child proof doors, so I had to ask the assistant to let me out
First Golf, lots of work. I've started so I'll finish!
