My first MK 1 Golf

Been stalking a while and like most things I always do things back to front.. I’ve owned golf and audis and that lead me to seek out where it all started before I even cared!

a few guys on here have helped me loads and that lead to my purchase this weekend..

It’s still not sunk in but it looks like I’ve landed on my feet as loads of work has been done mechanically and this was some sort of garage find 6 years ago and then worked and then sent to auction before being painted..

I’ll post pictures as I go on but just wanted to share my purchase for now..

Welcome mate! Looks a superb example, and in my opinion the best colour! What mileage, owners and history is with it! Love it!

I have a silver one owner campaign and a 3 owner lhasa green to restore. Just coming to the end of my mk1 totally original 1 owner, 54k Caddy pick up. Then i can start on the golfs!

Congrats and look forward to more pics and posts

Thanks Hef355 .. it's 2 previous owners on 94k but with little history prior to 2015 when the previous owner bought it and got an mot in 2019 so it looks like it's been off the road for a few years in storage judging by the scratches on the roof from something..

Lots or receipts since 2015 mechanical and panels but looks like it's been sprayed in places by a rattle can!

The factory sunroof works perfect and it's got electric windows?!!

I can get use to this!

Sounds a great little thing! Great find! So it’s on the road and running? Hope your going to keep it completely standard and restore it to how it came from the factory, especially as its such low owner and miles!

Where are you based buddy?

South Birmingham, it's staying as standard as it is apart from the engine which is out of a mk3 with a Tsr head.  I have the original engine but will wait and see. It's mot is due in august so will get over that hurdle first!
