Hi all , Newbie in Scotland

Hi all, just wanted to say Hi ,
Bought my mk1 yesterday with plans for a restoration,
84 on a B plate  in black , she's been hiding for the past few years and was covered in dust when i picked her up, but 99% there and all standard Great forums here, Ive learned loads already just reading through I have another couple of projects on the go also , but I think the golf will win for being done first

This was her when i picked her up, been hiding in that garage for 3 years..

I took her home and got the buff out the next day , I thought, i'll give her a quick clean up so she looks like she's worth saving, aaaaaand, took me 3 hours to machine buff 1 side, but i think it was worth it, Also test fitted my Porsche wheels that were on my polo, Think they'll be going on the golf  oh, Im in Dunfermline, well just outside

Not come across a B reg MK1 tin top before, what is the history on it being so late registered?

She's still an 84, but not registered till 22/8/84 , but i agree, iv'e never seen a mk1 tintop on a B plate before, cant be many i wouldn't think

It's amazing what a wash n brush up does.
Looks smart.
Does it need a lot doing?
This Club is brilliant and there is so much on here knowledge and help wise you, so take advantage of it.

It's not the first B-plate I've seen, but has to be one of the last registered - in existence at least.

From memory back in early 84 we still had a handful on stock that needed to be shifted as we were getting a reasonably supply of the Mk2's non GTI.

They tended to be base models with undesirable colours and diesel's.
We'd just put some dealer extras on them and stuck them in the showroom with a silly price on them.
Registered them as demos to get the extra discount.

Still made a bit of on them!
