Found this community through another community VWVortex. Always looking to learn more about my MK1's and find those special parts for my projects
The pictures above are of my first MK1 that I bought a few years back. It was an original diesel car that a previous owner turned into a gas car. It then made its way to vermont to be a hill climb car. A lot of custom parts were on it and some hacking was had with it. Since then I have done a few auto racing events with it, but it still feels rough to drive. I am no mechanic so taking a lot of time and money to get it to where it is today. I have had the motor and wiring completely redone on the car and it is a quick little beast.
1980 Rabbit
aba head with 1.8 bottom.
Turbo
020 trans with quaiffe. (Plan to put an 02J soon)
ce2 wiring.
Second project is my 1992 Cabriolet. Up until recently it was all stock. Pulled the working 1.8 out and put in this vr6 with only 48k miles. Currently the car is still sitting. Waiting on my axles to ship and in search of the hard to find mk1 mfa cluster/clocks. Minus the motor upgrade, it is also going to have disc brakes all around as well as a kw v2 coilover suspension. I need to replace the top and it currently sits on Renault Clio Turbo Fans painted a Rootbeer color
Thanks,
Aaron

Great cars! How did you come to have Clio wheels in NY? I'm guessing there were never many Clios there?!
Thank you. So I recently bought them from some one in NJ who said they were on his jetta when he bought it, but he bought some fifteen52's and didnt need them anymore. I don't know how the person before him got the wheels. You are right though not many if any Clios are here. I personally love that car and the fact that I happened to end up with some wheels from one is funny to me. Here is a pic of them being fitted while the car gets the VR6 installed.

looks like you'll be busy getting those 2 sorted. But looking good so far.
If you haven't already start a new post in the Your Projects section that way we can see how you progress.
Keep up the good work.

Wow I can't believe I missed you joining our merry band of Mk1 nutters. Must have been because I was back in the U.K for the AGM.
