Cosmetic resto, with ... updated running gear

Hi Folks
I'm new in here, so though I'd say hi!
I've taken on , what seemed to be a fairly well known car,  and am having it rebuilt as we speak.
It's a very early LS, German built 4 door car, that at some time had suffered a fairly serious engine fire, that pretty much took out everything in the bay, along with the bonnet and a wing. Though from the windscreen back it's remarkably solid with a great interior.
My plan is to build it back with as much of the original body parts as is possible. So far I've needed an early 'smoothy' bonnet and a wing, which I've been lucky enough to secure. The original trim and bumpers are there and will be reused, giving the car a fairly ' lived in ' look.
The interesting part is the running gear…..
Using a eurowise kit, a low mileage beetle RSI engine is being fitted, with an o2a box, bilstein Bagyard air struts, and g60 brakes. I'm thinking it should make for a nice little hot rod, that looks like a nice early golf, and as most of the mods are pretty much bolt on, there's no reason why I couldn't be returned to standard if required.
As soon as it's up and running I'll give an update.

As all the running gear is being replaced, I have all the standard parts for sale, so suspension, hubs and brakes,  and the wishbones etc. I'm more interested in them going to someone that needs them than making money, so if you want give me a shout
Cheers
