On a previous car I used the crazy quiff stainless flexy, it worked well so I have bought another set for my latest project. Years ago I bought a set of original rigid from vw  and the flexy is much easier to use/fit..

Thanks abfmk1 thats what im thinking obviously the braided it easier to manipulate and fit does it fit straigjt to the existing rubber hose on each end of the copper

From memory the flexy had proper threaded unions on the ends where required. Left to push on where not required,

Did you buy the 6mm or 8mm flexy mate

To be honest I don't remember, but I would buy the 8mm as I believe that's what it was originally.

GTi will be 8mm.
It'll be extremely difficult to run new kunifer pipes due to access along the bulkhead to get the correct bends. I could have used either during my resto but went with the Crazyquiff lines & have to say the quality seems to be excellent and they look very tidy when fitted. My only slight niggle is they are much larger diameter than the original steel pipes and only just fit into the retaining clamps under the car, but no space for any rubber liners. Shouldn't be an issue though.

if its a carby you can just run normal rubber fuel lines front to back if you want, there is no fuel pressure. the QQ lines are excellent quality but only required for fuel injection. Make sure you get quality R9 grade lines for modern fuels.

I would also look at mk2/3 golf plastic lines the next time I start a MK1 project…
