Should I use E5 or E10 petrol

I have a 1985 Cabrio 1.8 cis with a dx engine. Can I use E10 petrol?

It was designed to run on 4 Star @98/99 octane. You should be using high octane unleaded sold as ultimate, ultra, supreme etc etc.

It is sold and has been for years as E5 and is remaining as E5. In practice I beleive no one adds ethenol to their super unleaded so its E0. This will remain the case for atleast 5yrs.

It's best to run a GTi on super unleaded and as Early-1800 said super unleaded is either E5 or E0.
You will need to advance your engine timing if your car was set up to run normal unleaded.

You can buy a fuel stabiliser if you still want to use normal unleaded but I would recommend setting up your car for super unleaded.
