which exhaust????

need a new one for my 83 1800 anyone got any recomendations............. :?:

If you aren't staying standard, then I'd go Supersprint or Jetex as at least they fit well.

my magnex fits nice!

nice sound comming from the engine, not the backbox!

Personaly I've always had Magnex as G60RGE says they are pretty quiet when you want them to be, whereas others can sometimes be too loud on motorway drives. Depends on what you're after really. I've restored mine and only this week put a new standard Ernst system on and even that sounds brilliant when the second carb kicks in.

my other1 has a standard system and im beggining to like it better!
ok its also has a k&n and single butterfly throttle body.. but sounds good!

let my brother take mine for a spin and when he shot off the magnex sounds wkd from the outside!

proper raw sound of the mechanical mk1  -  loved it!

i have got the jetex one, worse thing i ever did. too loud, unbearable on motorways

I have the magnex, had it on for just over a year now and im very happy with it, can be quiet when you want it to be and sounds nice when you put your foot down, quality and fit are good, if you can get the older one as they came with downpipe and uprated engine and gearbox mounts etc

I had a Milltek system, I was Not Impressed, it fitted poorly, i spent loads of time trying to get it on their nice, then it broke, then it broke again after it was repaired by them, then it broke again after my VW specialist had checked all the engine mounts were ok, they sent out a new one and told me to Bin the one i had, and this one rattled, i put up with it for a while then i sold it and now im fitting a standard one. Ive had a Magnex on other cars and been very impressed, but my specialist recomended Jetex too.

Stick with the GSF earnest exhaust, the quality is very high and also very affordable.
