Roll back to 79. Series 2 to series 1

Hi all,

Just some background: I've got a 1.8 GTI series 2 1982 car. I've had the shell fully restored and had a small light panel welded in!

I need help:

Does anyone know where I can get a speedo cable to go from a series 2 5 speed gearbox to a series 1 dash?

Have any of you done this old school switch? I've not really looked at the wiring yet. I have both wiring looms GTI and series 1 and I've already laid the GTI fuse box and main loom in.

Wirings not my strong point so any advice would be much appreciated!!!
