HEATER BLOWER UPGRADES, any ideas for staying warm!!

Had a quick look about and couldn't see anything else on a search about this although I'm sure it's here somewhere . . . post links if there is.

NEED ADVICE ON THE BEST UPGRADES OR MODS TO GET MORE HEAT THROUGH INTO THE CAB, partly to keep warm but mainly to dry out condensation inside glass and carpets/mats from wet shoes.

Thanks

Kennedy

Have you got that much water getting in the car?

Normal heaters are more than enough (well mine are anyway)

If its got that wet that the carpets and sound deadening are wet the only fix is remove wet carpets and sound insulation, dry out off car and fix any leaks so they don't get wet again.

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Cheers for comments chaps,

Yeah I didn't think I had any leaks but then there does seem to be a dribble of water now and again that ends up in the passenger footwell (under carpets and sound proof)? I dry it whenever I see it.

It worries me a bit because I know how the floor in these corners can rot out if left, it was the reason I got rid of my last gti.

But basically guys, it's a daily car thats in real good shape but it lives outside ALL of the time. It's not practical to strip it out when I'm using it so much, not at the minute anyway. It's not soaked inside, far from it, but wondered if the heating system could be made more efficient so I can fill the cab with warm air everytime I'm in it to keep it bone dry. Or an upgrade that would mean hot air straight away without warm-up time.

Moon on a stick is what I want

Does your heater get hot at all then? Mine used to get so hot it melted the flap that diverts the air around to different places (had a rad switch issue).

Have a look at the scuttle tray drain holes under the bonnet, these tend to get blocked and then this lets water in to the foot wells.

Yeah dude it gets warm, not hot enough to melt stuff though, thats probably hotter than I need ha ha.

Cheers about the leak source, I'll investigate where that's coming in from and check scuttle tray area.

So doesn't look like theres many folk that have messed with there heaters. I thought that like everything else like headlights, wipers, interiors and such there would be a common swap over from something else dub (newer) that would be better and more efficient. As is normally the case, the standard stuff works fine but folk just like to modernise and improve stuff where possible.

I'll check back to see if anything else pops up in here, but for now I'll stick to the standard heaters.

The standard heater is perfectly fine for heating the car up pretty hot, but heat alone will NOT solve your problem, the key is ventilation so it escapes.
