Few Questions need answers to.

Hi at the stage of my engine fitted got few questions would like advise on.

Speedo cable not reaching the mk3 02a box any ideas on what i can do i.e buy longer cable ect

using a mk4 golf selector for gear change do i  put a hole in fire wall or do i put cables under in exhaust tunnel and is it best to put the selector on top inside the car or underneath.

Also the sump is rather low hanging from the bay is this same with all conversions and has any one has any issues with smashing the sump.

i've got mine under the car running the cables along the exhaust tunnel.

depends on how low your car is.

What shifter you using mate any of you handy pictures?

I put my shifter under the car and it left very little room for the exhaust?

what mk4 shifter have you got?

a late 02J or an early one which is the same as the 02A.

mines the late 02J which is a lot slimmer.
will get some tomorrow afternoon

i think its a 02j from a 1999 it very wide..

Mine is defo the bottom one in the picture 02j and when i put it in the tunnel it filled it and there was not much room at all not enough to fit a exhaust pipe anyway.

needed very little trimming of the gearstick housing to fit the mk1 hole. unlike the 02A shifter which would never fit in that hole without serious modification



Don't see the shifter being in the way as its higher than the exhaust hanger rubber.
i need to get a new tower for my box to match the newer shifter

Ahh now thats how mine fits so the exhaust will have to be modified to fit under it with out touching then

I wouldn't imagine it would? its higher than the exhaust mount, so it depends on if you are running a second silencer box by there?

Oh yer i was under the impression the exhaust ran in that tunnel but your right the exhaust mount i lower mayb i should of take the exhaust off myself then i wouldn't have though it ran so high in the tunnel durrr
