Ashley four branch ?

Hello any/ all having trouble finding the right things to get hold of for 89 gti 8v cabrio when I have a new ashley 4 branch manifold fitted. Can anybody tell me what gaskets and connecitons/ additions (engine mount ???) might be worthwhile as it's got no flexibility as with the standard manifold to downpipe ? Having a bit of a mare to be honest.

diesel engine mount is a good idea. you want the one behind the gearbox. to be honest a new standard one should be fine if the exhaust is well fitted and the rubbers are good. standard exhaust manifold gaskets will do. make sure you use exhaust wrap to heat shield it. do it before you fit the manifold.

diesel or poly bush the front and rear stabuiliser ones you may need a piece of pipe to link it slightly to your exhaust as i found mine was about an inch or 2 short, i just mackeld it on at the mo enough to get it mot'd as i am booking my self in for a custom stainless one,


also i got told to buy g60 exhaust manifold gaskets as the holes are larger (ported) also worth porting the manifold to match the head before it goes on

i always have the last laugh ;)

thanks for that, the only manifold gasket i can find is four small gaskets, can anyone tell me if this is right, or if not which one. havin a bit of a mare with this at the mo......

that's fine. line the gaskets up with the 4 branch (put bolts through to hold them and this will give you an idea of wether it's worth porting it or not. ashley ones tend not to be to clean on the welds or aligned to well.
